Master Trainer

Michael Lum

An accountant by training, Michael Lum holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from National University of Singapore, a Master of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Sydney and a PhD. He holds a Graduate Diploma (Training and Development) from Singapore Civil Service College and a Diploma in Action-based Training from Atlantic International University. Michael is a faculty member of Atlantic International University.

His previous career includes a finance manager, marketing manager and general manager with American and British MNCs in Australia and Singapore.

Michael is a certified trainer with American Board of NLP, Time Line Therapy® Association and American Board of Hypnotherapy. He is an American Management Association trainer, a Louis Allen Program Leader and a Laughter Yoga instructor. Previously, Michael was a certified facilitator for Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus relationship workshops.

Michael is a certified hypnotherapist with National Guild of Hypnotists and a certified Stress Management Instructor with International Association of Counselors and Therapists. He is an American Institute of Small Business Instructor and an Advanced Toastmaster (Gold) with Toastmasters International.

Michael modeled his training after being trained by world-class legends including Dr Tad James (NLP, Time Line Therapy), Dr John Gray (Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus), Dr Madan Katari (Laughter Yoga), Dr Calvin Banyan (Hypnosis), Tony Buzan (Mind Mapping), Anthony Robbins (NAC), Jillian LaVelle (IACT), Dr Servaas van Beekum (TA) and Michael Gelb (How to think like Leonardo da Vinci). At least once a year, Michael travels to United States, Australia or Europe to update himself with the latest technology.

A wordsmith in his spare time, Michael is the bestselling author of "I Once Wore Diapers”, “No Failure; Only Success Delayed”, “Who Broke My Rice Bowl?” and “From Beggars to Millionaires”. The first book is translated into 4 languages. His forthcoming book is “Theory K”, expounding the ubiquitous kiasu behavior.

In recognition of his social contribution for his work amongst retrenched workers and singles, he was awarded ABC True Hero 2003.

Using andragogy, accelerated learning and an eclectic approach, he facilitates management programs for both the Government and MNCs. He has personally designed 30 over training programs and trained thousands of executives in the region.
