Dr Servaas van Beekum has worked as a teacher, counselor and manager in high schools. He is a psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice as well as a university lecturer, international corporate trainer, coach and consultant.
He has two masters in Sociology and Psychology and a postdoctorate Diploma in Counseling.
As a social scientist, Dr Servaas has a background in analytical, behavioral, humanistic and systemic approaches. He trains supervisors, coaches and |
consultants in over 30 countries, integrating the modalities of transactional analysis, gestalt, systems approach and group relations approach.
He is co-founder of associations for counseling (Dutch association for school counselors), for supervision (European Association for Supervision) and for supervision, coaching and consultancy in Australia (ASCCANZ). He is also co-founder of Group Relations Nederland, an association for the study of unconscious group process in organizations.
Dr Servaas is the past president of EATA (1992 -1993) and of International Transactional Analysis Association, based in Sans Francisco (ITAA) (1994-1995). He is the founder and co-director of Institute for Application of Social Science (IAS International). Additionally, Dr Servaas is the past president (1996-2000) of the European Association for Supervision (EAS) and the co-founder and current president of the Association for Supervision, Coaching and Consultancy in Australia and New Zealand (ASCCANZ).
Dr Servaas currently resides in Sydney, having established Van Beekum Consult in 1999.

Training Credentials
- Transactional Analysis Trainer and Supervisor (TSTA). Dr Servaas is involved in supervision of Level I and Level II candidates. He is also a guest trainer in some TA-training programs, specialising in group process.
- International accredited supervisor and consultant. Dr Servaas has personally coached individual clients who are CEOs, Senior and Middle managers in organizations.
- Co-director of Ascenture. Dr Servaas consults with organizations specializing in design and alignment of their culture and internal process.
- Director of Van Beekum Consult. Dr Servaas co-operates with ACIS (Australian Centre for Integrative Studies) and WSU (Western Sydney University) in offering training in supervision, coaching and consultancy. This is a three year program with exit points each year and offering a Masters (Supervision/Consultancy) after three years.
- President of ASCCANZ. Dr Servaas is deeply involved in the development and promotion of the professions of coaching, supervision and consultancy.
