Why work for turkeys when you are an eagle? How can you soar like an eagle when you hang around with eagles? Don't scratch for worms in the earth like chickens when you are meant to soar into the blue skies and rule it.
If you have been harboring your dreams of owning your own business, you can realize it now. You can build a SOHO business, in 27 days, with low capital by participating in a proven business system franchised from American Institute of Small Business (AISB).
Why be a Sohopreneur?
At last, you can be your own boss, with no one over looking your shoulders all time. Finally, you can do all the things you think is best for you. As a Sohopreneur, you can be financially independent, build multiple streams of income, have a high self esteem and maximize your talents and resources.
The Rich versus The Poor
Statistics showed that by the age of 65, only 1% of the population are rich, 4% are financially independent, 5% are still be working, 36% are dead and the remainder, 54%, are either broke or dependent. Depending on a single income source as an employee is a risky business. When you work for someone, you are either be replaced, displaced or misplaced. Your company can be downsized, right-sized or worse, capsized.
You have a choice whether you want to be an employee for the rest of your life or take control of your future, be your own boss. Many believe there is no choice. Actually, there is a choice. However, they are afraid to make that choice. Some people are chasing their entrepreneurial dreams, some are living out their dreams now while the rest have no more dreams. Most people have the herd instinct. They follow the majority – be work for others. That is why the majority are either poor or middle class. They know what the rich do but they do not do what the rich do.
You too can be an sohopreneur if we make two basic assumptions: (1) You can find some money as a low start-up capital and (2) You have a burning entrepreneurial desire.
New Business Survival
If you venture into a new business, can it survive? According to the US Small Business Administration (SBA), 50% of small businesses failed in its first year of operation. 95% failed in the first five years of operation. Many also lost their homes and life savings.
Why do new businesses fail? According to SBA, the key reasons are (1) lack of experience and (2) lack of training. American Institute of Small Business (AISB) believes strongly that current training programs available in the market do not meet the needs of business owners today.
Sohopreneurial Qualities
Do you have the qualities required of an sohopreneur? The intrinsic characteristics of an sohopreneur are: (1) You love to make money (2) You have bigger dreams than others (3) You are success oriented (4) You work harder than most people (5) You are better at something than most people (6) You take risks differently from others (7) You are proud (8) You respond to challenges in a positive way (9) You learn from your mistakes and (10) You have high level of integrity.

A Sohopreneur is a person who will work 16 hours a day to avoid working for someone 8 hours a day. The mindset of an employee is how not to lose (how to maintain your job) whereas a Sohopreneur's mindset is always how to win. Sohopreneurs do different things and they do things differently. They love challenges. You too can be a Sohopreneur.
Sohopreneurial Driving Forces
Why do people want to become Sohopreneurs? The main driving forces are (1) To get rich (2) To prepare for retirement (3) To supplement income (4) To use business as tax shelters (5) To occupy their spare time (to pursue their hobbies) and (6) To further a common cause for their family.
Other Sohopreneurs have personal reasons for building their own business. Among the personal agenda are (1) They want to prove or increase their self worth (2) They want to escape working for someone (3) They want to have flexible working hours and (4) They want to stop taking orders from turkeys.
Why Business Fail?
Why do businesses fail? According to studies conducted by AISB, the main reasons are (1) Lack of training (2) Lack of experience (3) The business is in a sunset industry (4) Owners do not understand customers' needs (5) They do not know their product (6) Poor management (7) Insufficient capital and (8) They expanded too fast.
How do Sohopreneurs ensure they are successful in their SOHO businesses? The criteria are 5D's – Desire, Diligence, Details, Discipline and Determination. What challenges do Sohopreneurs face? (1) Unpredictable income. There are either feast or famine (2) There is a risk of losing money (3) They work long hours (4) They work very hard (5) They have to adopt a different lifestyle (6) Stress levels are very high and (7) There is more responsibility to shoulder.
Many complained they have no time to attend courses or start their business. “No time” type of people are only employees with one job. Those who can find time, “Got time” people, are Sohopreneurs who own multiple businesses.
